Conferences, Sledding & the Children's Museum

Since I've been slacking posting here, I'll update quick.

  • Last week Thursday I had Caleb's conference. His teacher is very impressed with the work he's doing and where he stands in all subjects; mom is impressed too. For the most part he's right where he should be, and in a few math areas he's actually ahead. She says he always try to do his best in class and she very rarely has to give him more than a warning to get him back on task. We've agreed that in order to make sure his homework is done we'll be taking away recess time if it's taking an excessive amount of time for him to get it finished here at home.
  • Then Friday my mom and I took the kids to the Children's Museum. They LOVED it! They had tons of hands on exhibits and fun things for the kids to participate in. Afterwards we took them out for lunch and milkshakes.
  • Finally, on Saturday afternoon the kids and I went with our next door neighbor and her daughter sledding. The local junior high has a great area for sledding. All the kids had a real blast! We also built our first snowman for this year since we had plenty of snow and some decent weather.

All in all, we had a wonderful time last weekend, which has turned into a pretty good week too! The kids are both busy with Valentine's Day parties (Lorelei's today, Caleb's tomorrow) and everything the school week entails. More to come tomorrow!
