For purely educational purposes...

The kids now have their very own desktop computer. Although we had intended for them to have a hand-me-down, the plan ultimately failed when the hand-me-down refused to work. George, being the tech geek that he is, decided that a new (yet cheap) desktop model was the more efficient option to repairing the hand-me-down. The desk sits in the dining room and fits perfectly right under the counter ledge directly behind the kitchen sink. We can use the chairs from the dining room table and have full monitoring capacity from every room on the first floor. Both Caleb and Lorelei have their own user accounts so that they can save favorite websites and install games that they like. We set Caleb's internet home page to Yahoo! Kids and Lorelei's to PBSKids. They had a blast playing some games and using the new PC after dinner. Hopefully this will work well for a number of years and come in handy as they start needing to do more school projects at home.
