We spent a good majority of our time outdoors today despite Caleb's insistence that it was boring and no fun.
Around 11 I kicked both kids outdoors with their scooters, sidewalk chalk and bubbles. I finally let them back in around 1 after taking a few pictures and videos of them. We had a late lunch and then I hustled them both back out the door and down to the "big" park.
While there, a worm apparently had some offspring. This was the hit with every kid who was there for a good 15 minutes. And then, I think they buried the poor worms in the sand again. But, they are worms...so maybe this was good?
We left the park and took a mini walk/scootering around a block before heading back home.
After hanging out indoors for a short while, Lorelei wanted to go back out so she and I went out and she did some scootering, we drew some pictures with the sidewalk chalk and we played with the dogs for a bit. Well, okay, I took the dogs out and let them sniff around for a bit. Max also stuck his head out the screen on our front downstairs window -- but it was broken anyway, so oh well.
It was definitely a bath kind of night after all the playing. But, I think the kids had a good time.

Beautiful Weather!
The weather here is gorgeous right now! It's in the high 50's, the sun is shining -- to put it mildly, it's SPRING!!!
I let the kids venture off to the park by our house alone a little earlier. I can see the park from our patio door, though not well enough to necessarily pick out my two among the mix. They played for about 45 minutes before coming home together so that Caleb could use the bathroom.
Caleb didn't want to go back to the park and Lorelei begged me to be able to go back alone. I think 5 is just a bit too young to venture to the park alone, but I offered her some sidewalk chalk to take outside if she wanted. She didn't, but Caleb thought that sounded fun and got redressed to head back outdoors. Lorelei ate a piece of cheese and followed.
Another 45 minutes of play outside and they came in to chill out.
I was getting ready to take Max and Duke out for a potty break and asked Caleb if he'd like to try taking Max out while I took out Duke. He jumped at the chance. How awesome is that? I now have my puppy potty break helper!
Now they are back inside doing some make believe of one sort or the other. And, they are in really great moods which makes for a really great day!
