Bad Ben and the Monster

To encourage Caleb to read his weekly reading book, I've started having him read it to Lorelei and I at bedtime. Tonight I brought it, along with two other books, upstairs for us to read together. Caleb picked up one of the books I was planning to read, Bad Ben and the Monster, and began to read it aloud. Thinking he might get frustrated I gently encouraged him to keep going after getting stuck on a word, and he did. It took him almost 25 minutes to finish the story, and there were certainly words I had to help out with, but he read the entire book by himself! I was sooooo proud! I take my own ability to read for granted and it's so amazing to experience the whole process of learning to read through him!
